Innovative Fire Protection for Conwy Tunnel Joints Installed

The element and dilation joints in the Conwy Tunnel, an immersed tube tunnel in North Wales, have been protected with an innovative design of fire protection that accounts for the seasonal movements of the structure and the misalignments of the element edges. The secrets of the innovative design are revealed in Mosen Ltd’s technical paper to be presented at the International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security in March 2018.
