At the recent World Road Association (PIARC) conference on tunnel safety in Lyon, Dr Fathi Tarada spoke at a round table discussion on “plug and play” systems in tunnels. His view is that plug-and-play systems assist tunnel operators in moving from reactive to predictive maintenance regimes.
